About these Photos. A word of explanation is in order.
"Chatter", the black and white male cat in the second photo, is a stray who adopted us.
Gabby, the calico female kitten, below
(@8wks old) adopted Chatter whom she follows everywhere. We have never seen such behavior in a kitten. We are totally amazed!
This kitten forsook her natural family soon after being weaned, in order to follow her hero, Chatter, who wasn't very keen on the idea of having a baby as a companion. We had to call her something so she was dubbed "Gabby" because, like Chatter, she is very vocal.
She still won't allow humans to touch her. But she won't leave Chatter, so has pretty much moved in. Soon she was found for the first time sleeping on the bed with Chatter and actually climbed up on the couch with us, eventually. She's getting closer to feline-human interaction.
Gabby took off for a few days and when she came back she and Chatter had some issues to settle. Shortly thereafter she presented us with a gift, 3 adorable kittens whom we named "Indiana Jones" or Indy, because of his adventurous nature, Fadeout, for her coloring and Xerox who has since been dubbed Big Eyed Punky Butt. After they were all weaned, fixed and vaccinated Gabby left them in Uncle Chatterboxes capable paws and was never seen again.
About a year later a pathetic looking waif named Greeneyes showed up and we could not let her starve to death, she is now known as Grisibella.
Little did we know that was the beginning of the Barrows Critter Cafe and Wildlife Refuge.
This year we were joined by 3 baby racoons and their mother. They enjoy the catfood and the company and are growing into fine young adults.
We are fascinated with Astronomy and love taking pictures of the moon. Here is moonrise over the trees. Not far away, the sun was going down and coming down into the treeline.
It is autumn now and the leaves are turning red. These were set on fire by the setting sun.
You can look forward to more gorgeous sunrises, sunsets, moon shots, flowers and whatever else enters camera range and our imaginations!
Thanks for looking!
Don't forget to sign our guest book and hurry back soon!
Below you will find some of our sunrise, sunset and more artsy photos. These represent some of the photos Roy and Beth have taken.
Two of these pictures were taken at 60 mph going down the freeway at night...can you tell which ones they are? Yup, Beth just loves doing that.
We sincerely hope you will enjoy this mini gallery as promise of better things to come!
